A week has flown by. Los Angeles turned 245, Switzerland marked a tunnel anniversary, German voters handed AfD a record state result, Apple unveiled its first foldable iPhone, and the calendar said Teddy Bear Day. Five standalone sets.

New sets this week

Los Angeles

September 4, 1781 is the founding date of Los Angeles, when settlers established El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles. In 2026 that birthday hits 245 years. The city seal and civic history still lean on that Spanish colonial start, layered under later California and US symbols.

Los Angeles is a stained-glass pair: sunset amber, Pacific blue, violet night lights, and palm silhouettes on an angel-wing pointer and mosaic hand. Dark lead lines keep the shapes sharp at cursor size. Golden hotspots catch the click.

Gotthard Road Tunnel

September 5, 1980 opened the Gotthard Road Tunnel, a 16.9 km bore under the Alps between Goschenen and Airolo. At the time it was the world's longest road tunnel. One lane each way through granite, still a workhorse of the Swiss A2.

Gotthard Road Tunnel puts Alpine stone, mountain road cues, and Swiss engineering grit on the pointer and hand. A travel set for anyone who likes odd infrastructure on the desktop.

Far Right

September 6, 2026 brought a preliminary result that will sit in German politics for a while: AfD took 43.8% in Saxony-Anhalt, more than double its 2021 share and the party's strongest state election yet. It still fell short of a majority, and other parties ruled out coalition deals before the vote.

Far Right is the pun set for that week. "Go FAR right" becomes a bold right-facing arrow with FAR stamped inside, plus a matching pointing hand. Wordplay, not a manifesto.

Cursor Duo

September 9, 2026 Apple introduced iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable iPhone. Closed it is compact; open it is a wide inner display. Apple had sat out the foldable race for years. The name stuck fast.

Cursor Duo is the Mac counterpart: the first foldable mouse cursor set. Same joke as the phone news, smaller, and it sits under your click.

Teddy's Honey Adventure

September 9 is National Teddy Bear Day in the US. The toy name traces to 1902, when Theodore Roosevelt refused a staged bear hunt and Morris and Rose Michtom sold "Teddy's bear" after Clifford Berryman's cartoon ran in the Washington Post.

Teddy's Honey Adventure shows a teddy swinging toward a stitched star, then popping from a honey pot to tap a tiny honey heart. Soft, a little silly, easy to spot on a busy screen.
