Christ and the Samaritan woman

August 24 is the day Lavinia Fontana was baptized in Bologna in 1552. She is widely remembered as the first woman in Western Europe to build a career as a professional painter, working in portraiture, mythology, and religious scenes for patrons across Italy and Rome.

Christ and the Samaritan woman takes its cue from her painting Christ and the Samaritan Woman at the Well. The set is a small tribute to Fontana and the path she opened for women working as artists on commission.

Cyrus the Great

Cyrus II founded the Achaemenid Empire in the 6th century BCE. His cylinder, tomb at Pasargadae, and the winged Faravahar still shape how many remember ancient Persia. August 26 (4 Shahrivar 1405) is the traditional birthday tied to Shahrivargan; unofficial Cyrus Day gatherings at Pasargadae usually fall in late October (7 Aban on the Iranian calendar).

Cyrus the Great bundles four sets around that legacy: royal profile, the Cyrus Cylinder, the Faravahar, and the tomb at Pasargadae. Gold, lapis blue, turquoise, and stone textures run through each pointer.

August 23 is National Doctors' Day in Iran, linked to Ibn Sina (Avicenna), the physician and philosopher born around 980 CE. His Canon of Medicine shaped medical teaching from the Islamic world into medieval Europe for centuries.

Ibn Sina - The Canon of Medicine draws on that scholarly world: manuscripts, herbs, anatomical studies, and Persian ornament in deep blue and turquoise around the pointer and hand.

Shahrivargan

August 26 (4 Shahrivar 1405) is Shahrivargan, the Zoroastrian festival of ideal rule, strength, justice, and the sacred power of metals. Communities honor Xshathra Vairya, the Amesha Spenta tied to desirable dominion. The same day is widely remembered as the traditional birthday of Cyrus the Great.

Shahrivargan leans into that spirit: crowns, balanced scales, silver blades, blue enamel, and gold ornament woven into the pointer shapes.

Amordadgan

Amordadgan is the Zoroastrian festival of immortality, plants, and the healing power of nature. On the Fasli calendar it falls on July 25; the name comes from Ameretat, the attribute of wholeness and deathlessness in Zoroastrian thought.

Amordadgan turns that into green leaves, white blossoms, vines, and dewdrops inside bold outlined pointer shapes. Soft and living, but still easy to read on screen.

Pixel Art Peach

August 27 was National Peach Day in the US, near the end of National Peach Month. A simple excuse to eat a ripe peach at peak harvest.

Pixel Art Peach is the cozy counterpoint: a plump pink-and-gold peach with a tiny green leaf and crisp pixel edges. Retro-game warmth for fruit lovers and anyone who wants a sweeter pointer.
