Weekly recap - Pharmacists, Einstein, Caravaggio, and Rumi
Four Cursor Craft sets for the week of October 1: Pharmacists, Einstein's light wave, Caravaggio's Cardsharps, and Rumi.
A week has flown by. World Pharmacists Day, Einstein's mass-energy paper, Caravaggio's baptism anniversary, and Iran's Mowlavi Day all hit the calendar. Four standalone sets.
The headlines
- September 25 is World Pharmacists Day, an official day of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in honor of pharmacists around the world. FIP chose the date because it marks the federation's founding in 1912.
- September 27, 1905 is when Annalen der Physik received Albert Einstein's short paper that gave the world the formula E = mc2.
- September 29, 1571 is the usual birth date given for Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. He was baptized the next day, September 30, in Milan.
- September 30 (8 Mehr in the Persian calendar) is Mowlavi Day in Iran, the national day of Rumi (Mawlana), the mystical poet.
New sets this week
Pharmacists

September 25 is World Pharmacists Day. The International Pharmaceutical Federation adopted the observance in 2009 and picked the anniversary of its own founding in 1912. Each year the day closes World Pharmacy Week and marks pharmacy work in clinics, hospitals, and neighborhood counters.
Pharmacists is a playful two-piece set: a prescription bottle with a capsule for the default pointer, and a bandaged glove for the pointing hand. Pink accents and solid black outlines keep both shapes readable on any background.
Einstein's light wave

September 27, 1905 is the received date on Einstein's Annalen der Physik note Does the Inertia of a Body Depend upon Its Energy-Content? Three pages. One result that stuck: energy and mass are two faces of the same thing, usually written E = mc2.
Einstein's light wave brings a little physics to the pointer. A cyan light wave for the default cursor, and a loop joining two particles for links. Flat shapes, clean lines, no lab coat required.
Caravaggio's Cardsharps

September 29, 1571 is the feast of Saint Michael, the usual birth date given for Caravaggio. Parish records show he was baptized September 30 in Milan at Santo Stefano in Brolo. Early in Rome he painted The Cardsharps: a card game, a cheat, and a moment that feels caught mid-trick.
Caravaggio's Cardsharps borrows that scene. A folded playing-card arrow pairs with a gloved pointing hand, a heart tucked into a striped cuff. A little sleight of hand for the desktop.
Rumi

September 30 falls on 8 Mehr in the Persian calendar, Iran's Mowlavi Day. It honors Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (Mawlana), the mystical poet whose Masnavi and lyric verse remain widely read. The whirling dervish motif echoes the Mevlevi Sema, the Sufi turn of devotion set to music.
Rumi draws on Persian manuscript color: lapis blue, turquoise, ivory, and antique gold around a whirling dervish. An ornamental arrow and a matching pointing hand.
